Oakley patient home

PA Auckland An Auckland man who was committed to Oakley Hospital after being found not guilty on the ground of insanity of strangling his daughter, is back with his family, his wife confirmed last evening. Mr Lloyd Arthur Perry, a watersider, aged 56, of the North Shore suburb of For-

rest Hill was discharged in the High Court at Auckland less than two weeks ago and was committed to Oakley for assessment by doctors. He had been charged with murdering his daughter Linda, aged 22, on December 12. Mr Perry’s wife, Harue, confirmed that her husband was back at home and was “all right” after his

release from Oakley on Friday evening. An Oakley spokesman said that Mr Perry had been released on a 12-month trial period, during which he would be under the care of a doctor at the hospital.

She said it was routine in most cases for patients to be released on a similar trial.
