Peace protests
Sir,—The article of May 28 about United States peace groups trying to stop the “White Train” was timely and informative. On Pentecost Day, June 10, many Christchurch Catholics and Protestants will be supporting, with their congregational and personal prayers, the people who keep vigils
along the routes of this train. We hope “The Press” will carry more news of action on Peace Pentecost Day in the United States as protest is focused on these trains, which carry nuclear weapons “equal to 200 Hiroshimas” on their regular deliveries. There is particular interest in Christchurch to hear about people in our sister city, Seattle, because they participate in these vigils.—Yours, etc., D. S. HUNT, for Christchurch Methodist Justice and Peaces Group. May 30, 1984.
