Title-holder beaten
The holder, Woolston Foundry, was eliminated from the Bolam Cup Sunday soccer competition when it was beaten by a rejuvenated Music Machine, 2-1. Nick Plummer and John Knowles scored goals for Music Machine within 25min, and Woolston could only reply with a goal to Terry Alder in the second spell.
Four first division and four second division teams remain. Results:— Wigram 4, Dux de Lux B 1; Ham 5, Templeton 1; Zig Zag 9, Burncastle 1; Music Machine A 2, Woolston Foundry A 1; Mastagard A 3, Air New Zealand B 0; Excelsior 5, Pharoahs 0; Avonhead 9, North Beach B 0; Dux de Lux A 5, Mykonos Tavern 1.
