NZPA-AP Honolulu Ships from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Japan, and the United States set out to sea from Honolulu yesterday as the nations opened joint ocean manoeuvres, United States Navy officials said.

The five countries are participating in the sixweek Rimpac 84 exercises intended to improve co-ordi-nation between their fighting units. Eighty ships, about 250 aircraft, and more than 50,000 sailors are involved.
