Egg review
PA Wellington The egg industry would be reviewed by the Industries Development Commission, said the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Templeton, yesterday. The review aimed to “promote competition and efficiency in the production, distribution, and marketing of eggs, in the public interest,” Mr Templeton said. Pricing and marketing would be among the areas studied. The commission would also examine the “location and level of egg production, noting current imbalances and surpluses,” and exports and imports. It had been asked to report to the Government by February 28 next year.
