New arms licence
A New Zealand representative fullbore shooter, John Whiteman, holds his new red firearms licence after receiving it in a small ceremony at the office of the head of the Christchurch
police district, Deputy Assistant Commissioner G. E. Twentyman (at rear), yesterday. Whiteman, the Canterbury fullbore champion, was the first person in Christchurch to be issued
with a licence under new arms regulations which came into effect yesterday. All people who use or possess firearms have until January 31 to obtain a licence, which costs $ll and is valid for life.
