Tough task in netball

New Zealand is undoubtedly the underdog for the third netball test against the Young Australian under 21 side at Cowles Stadium at noon tomorrow. In the two previous tests, last Saturday in Auckland and on Tuesday in Dunedin, Australia was a convincing winner with almost identical scores of 52-35 and 51-33. The Australians have shown too much composure

and speed for the New Zealanders, who will be keen to salvage some pride from tomorrow’s match even though the test series has been lost. The key question is the New Zealanders’ fitness. In the Auckland and Dunedin matches they stayed within striking distance of their opposition in the first and second quarters of the game, but tired markedly in the latter stages.
