The Backdoor Blues Band (above), from Dunedin, complete a short tour of the northern part of the South Island tomorrow and Saturday evenings, when they play at the Gladstone Tavern — perhaps the last touring band to be seen at the venue for a while.

For the band it may also be the last time they see Christchurch for a while because they are taking the next few months to work on new material, having been playing mainly live shows in the last six months. The two shows at the Gladstone are being supported by the Belle Motions, of Christchurch, and the Backdoor Blues Band will also feature Craig Walters (saxophone) in their line-np on both nights. Walters formerly played with the Roger Fox Band, and was also in the backing band on the Four Tops and Temptations tour of New Zealand in April.

The Backdoor Blues Band, from left, are: Nick Hill, Dave Maslin, Alnsley Day, Ted Clarke, and Chris Clarrldge.
