Forest clearance
Sir,—l note in your newspaper of May 12 an assertion by Mr Ron Ferguson, West Coast Futures Trust, in commenting on the Maruia Petition, that he has asked me to provide him with certain information. There is no evidence of such a query ever having been received in my office. I suggest that Mr Ferguson first ask me for this information before writing about it in the newspaper. — Yours, etc., lAN SHEARER, Minister for the Environment. May 25, 1984.
