Helmet’s slip led to crash

PA Wellington A woman, aged 22, broke her leg when she crashed her hang-glider on a training slope near Albany after a borrowed helmet slipped over her eyes, the Office of Air Accidents Investigation says. An accident report said the woman was flying three metres above the ground when the helmet obscured her vision and she lost control while landing. The woman, who was not named, had only an hour’s experience on hang gliders. The accident was in November last year.
