Hold-up inquiries
Police inquiries are continuing into the armed holdup of a Shirley butcher on Thursday evening. Two masked robbers, one with a sawn-off shotgun, shut the butcher, Mr Warren Battersby, in his freezer before escaping with $l5OO from the till. Mr Battersby was not hurt and left the freezer about 10 minutes later. The police would still like to hear from anyone who might have information about the robbery, at the Shirley Butchery, in Shirley Road, about 8 p.m.
