This is a senior supervisory position with direct responsibllty to the plant manager. The plant has a 3-chain mutton operation with 2-standard tally chains and a third development chain and also processes a significant number of bobby calves during the winter months. The job requires a thorough knowledge of mutton dressing, the abilityy to supervise a work force of over 200 people through a strong suupervisory team, a close working relationship with the M.A.F. in the present climate of stricter meat hygiene regulations and the communication skills to handle the Industrial relations and engineering problems of the department. The company is in the early development stages of a new mutton dressing system. After a period the successful applicant would be expected to take control of this project through to complete conversion of the mutton chain on the plant. This is a challenging senior position in an industry which is rapidly changing. An attractive salary and superannuation scheme is offered and a company house will be available.
