Brigade trophy winner
Peter Camblin, aged 15, a member of the Wharenui cadet division of the St John Ambulance Brigade, displays the Canterbury Centennial Shield and Lady Mountbatten Cup, which he won in the St John Ambulance Brigade’s national cadet competitions in Auckland last week-end. Peter finished second on aggregate points in the individual section to win the shield and the Lady Mounbatten Cup. The cup is awarded for combined total points accumulated in the drill and inspection, and a transport test. Peter represented the
Canterbury-West Coast district in the competitions. He has also won several other competitions since joining the brigade in 1979, including the senior boys individual championships for the Christchurch, and Canter-bury-West Coast areas, the resuscitation trophy, and the champion of champion trophy.
Peter will also compete in next year’s centenary national championships in Christchurch at Easter. Teams from the St John Ambulance Brigades in Australia, Canada and Singapore will also compete.
