NZPA-AAP Melbourne The Soviet Union, which has boycotted the Los Angeles Olympics, has accepted an invitation to send a team of gymnasts to compete in the inaugural Australia Games in Melbourne from January 25 to February 3 next year. The ?2 million games were announced yesterday jointly by the Prime Minis-

ter, Mr Bob Hawke, the Victorian Premier, Mr John Cain, and the Australia Games Foundation chairman, Mr James Barry. More than 20 nations have accepted invitations to attend, among them Bulgaria which has also boycotted the Los Angeles Olympics. The Soviet Union is one of nine countries, including the United States, which will compete in the gymnastic competition. _
