We have embarked on a major expansion which will initially lead to a five-fold increase in our steel-making capacity and in Stage 2 enable us to roll the feedstock for our existing Finishing Plants. This expansion will result in our permanent work force increasing by a planned 1000 people. To assist in the management of this expansion we are utilising the skills and experience of existing personnel and need to appoint additional staff to assist in meeting the work challenge in the current and expanded operations. The appointee will be responsible to the Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a wide range of electrical design work from heavy current to digital electronics, PLC’s and microprocessors, some project installation supervision and plant commissioning, and some relief plant supervision. The successful applicant will have a proven record in a heavy industrial environment and ideally an electrical engineering degree, although a top class N.Z.C.E. would not be excluded.
