Marketing in N.Z. is conducted, on the one hand, through a N.Z.-wide network of branches, local offices and professional agents and. on the other — and significantlv — through various financial institutions, trading organisations and major common-interest groups in the communitv. The appointee is responsible tor developing and ensuring the effective implementation of marketinu strategies aimed to increase N.Z. sales of a wide range of insurance products. The position is part ot the N.Z. Control Office and reports to the General Manager for New Zealand. Total N.Z. staff number 300. Applicants should have sound marketing experience and skills, and preferably a tertiary qualification with marketing emphasis, although of prime concern is relevance of background. Important areas of expertise include: developing marketing plans, commissioning; and evaluating market research, vv or king with advertising agencies and controlling budgets, overseeing the preparation of written sales promotion material. Essential is the ability to sell ideas and to implement plans through others.
