Rotorua appointment
Radio New Zealand has announced the appointment of Mr Graeme Wilson, aged 52, as manager at station IZC Rotorua. Mr Wilson comes to Rotorua after five years as manager of Radio New Zealand’s Taupo station, Radio Lakeland. His broadcasting career began in New Plymouth as
an announcer, in 1958, but he soon moved into the radio sales area on provincial stations, before making a move to television advertising in Christchurch during the early 19605. Back with radio at head office in Wellington, he worked on the business and
network sales side. After a brief period out of broadcasting in 1973-75, in an advertising agency, he returned to sales training and then more general staff training work, before becoming manager of the Taupo station in 1978. Mr Wilson’s appointment is subject to confirmation.
