Bomb-test end sought
PA Wellington New Zealand wants France to finish its nuclear bomb testing programme soon, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Thomson, said yesterday. The Labour Party has reacted to the first bomb test of the year at Mururoa by saying once in government it would convene a regional conference of Pacific nations in a bid to stop nuclear testing. The 20-kiloton blast at Mururoa on Wednesday showed how ineffective the New Zealand Government’s voice was, Mr Lange said.
