Graham in N.Z. team

Paul Graham, of Canterbury, has been confirmed as the New Zealand welterweight for the amateur boxing test against Northern Ireland at Wellington this evening.

Last week Graham performed creditably for a national invitation team against the tourists in Christchurch, losing to Brendan O’Hara on a 4-1 majority points decision. O’Hara will again be his opponent in Wellington. When the full New Zealand squad was originally announced Graham was bracketed with Keith Bullock, of Wellington. Bullock was sub-

sequently beaten by O’Hara by a unanimous points verdict in Auckland last Monday night. Graham appeared underprepared for his first clash with the Irishman. It was Graham’s

first bout of the season and he should have benefited from it, though O’Hara will have recovered from any travel fatigue he might have experienced. The other rematch in the test will be between the bantamweights, Johnny Wallace and Roy Nash. Wallace nudged out Nash by a 3-2 majority decision in Christchurch, but the skilful Irish southpaw must be conceded a strong chance oi reversing that result tonight.
