Triumphal March for N.Z.

NZPA-AAP Sydney Robert Sangster’s Triumphal March, which fetched the top price of sAust39,ooo at the Easter Mixed Sales on Friday, will race in New Zealand, his buyer, Pat Wilson, said. Triumphal March is a chestnut entire by Avatar foaled in the United States in 1978. The trainer, Colin Hayes, acting for Sangster, said the price came close to the reserve but he expected more. “He is a great horse with a great pedigree,” Wilson said. “To buy a pedigree like that would cost half a million overseas.” Mr Wilson hopes to race Triumphal March in the Adelaide Cup and then take to New Zealand.
