Advertisement Children swim at Akaroa Children from Christchurch and elsewhere are visiting Akaroa in their May school holidays. Many are having meals at the Bruce Restaurant in the “Akaroa Village” complex, entitling them to use the resort’s indoor heated swimming pool. The pool is also popular with children staying in the “Akaroa Village” motels. “Akaroa Village” manager, Dennis Ilton, said, “The temperature of our indoor pool is about the same as QEII. It is only a small pool so we cannot open it to everyone. But people using the Bruce Restaurant or staying at our motels are welcome to swim.” Children’s meals at the Bruce Restaurant are priced from $2.50. The “Akaroa Village” complex also has a hot spa pool which can be used by its motel guests and restaurant patrons. Accommodation bookings are made by phoning Akaroa 421.
