Mercy dash for arm fruitless
An Invercargill man’s mercy dash to Christchurch on Friday evening for microsurgery proved fruitless when surgeons decided they could not sew back his hand and lower arm. The man had his hand and lower arm severed in an industrial accident and he was flown to Christchurch in the hope that the limb could be attached at Burwood Hospital. His condition last evening was satisfactory.
