Avon has rules win
Avon beat New Brighton Kangas, 83-54, in an Australian rules football match at Wainoni Park yesterday. Inaccurate kicking cost New Brighton any chance it had of beating Avon. It had 25 shots at goal and was successful with only five. The best players in the Avon team were T. Daniels, B. Itsemara, C. Knutson and D.
Cross and for New Brighton, V. McCue, S. Robinson, K. Lush and D. Mirk. Goal scorers for Avon were F. Davies 3, N. Dunstan 3, K. Doyle 3 and B. Itsemara 2. For New Brighton, Robinson (2), S. Clarkson, McCue and K. Doylan scored the goals. Results: Avon 11, 17 (83), New Brighton Kangas 5, 24 (54).
