Brighton men in marathon
Don Greig, Tom Birnie and last year’s runner-up, Allan Sinclair, all of the New Brighton club, head the entries for this year’s Adidas City of Christchurch marathon on June 3. Greig, with an estimated time of 2hr 12mins, is the favourite to win the race in
the absence of the titleholder, John Dixon (Nelson). Another leading contender is Chris Tobin (Timaru), who ran a very fast lhr 4min half marathon recently. Today is the last day for entries for the event.
