NZPA-AP Nagoya The unranked Glenn Layendecker of the United States had a major 7-5, 604 upset triumph against the top-seeded David Mustard of New Zealand in the finals of the Dunlop Masters tennis tournament.

Mustard, who moved into the final round by winning four matches, including a 26, 7-5, 6-3 victory against the No. 3 seed, Jeff Turpin of the United States in the semi-finals, earned 800,000 yen (about SNZSSOO) for finishing second.

The men’s doubles crown was won by the No. 1 seed American pair of Turpin and Dowlen. They beat the No. 2 seed combination of Mustard and Charlie Fancutt of Australia, 1-6, 6-3, 76 (7-3).
