Two comedians share billing
Two of Britain’s top comedians share the honours in this week’s “Comedy Hour” screening on Two at 8.30 tonight. The late Dick Emery and Benny Hill provide the laughs and bawdy humour in this double bill. Earlier this year, Benny Hill was rushed into the exclusive Cromwell Hospital in London with a bleeding stomach ulcer. But after being discharged he said: “It’s healed up and I’m feeling fine.” Hill was touched and bemused by all the interest shown in his sudden illness. He said: “Five years ago I had a kidney removed and nobody made any fuss at all.” He had many visitors during his stay in hospital, including three of the girls from his show. “On the second day a new
lady we’ve got in the show, Lindsay Neill, came along,” said Hill. “She’s blonde and very sweet and all of a sudden all the male staff decided I needed some attention. They all came to my room while Lindsay was there to see if I was all right and take my temperature.”
