Tangent wins again

PA Wanganui The New Zealand-bred filly, Tangent, has won her second stakes race in North America. The three-year-old took the La Cienegas stakes at Santa Anita last Friday. The 6% furlong event on the turf track is worth about SNZIOO,OOO. The contest was for mares, four-year-olds and upwards. Due to the hemisphere difference, Tangent is deemed a four-year-old in North America. Tangent has had three

wins and a second in her four American outings. By Last Tango from Baby Bear (Idomeneo—Goldie Lock, By Gold Nib), Tangent was raced by her breeder, Jack Macky, of Te Awamutu, and trained by Bill Winder at Te Rapa before her sale to the United States. As a two-year-old she won five races and was placed second equal with 75kg in the New Zealand Two-year-old Free Handicap.
