$35,500 from stallion auction
By J. J. BOYLE Services to three successful New Zealand stallions realised $35,500 at auction at Riccarton yesterday. Balmerino topped the auction at $17,000, the bid of Mr John Austin, of Oxford.
The successful bid for the leading stallion, Noble Bijou, was $15,000, made on behalf of a client of Wrightsons, and Mrs Mary Dailey, of Prebbleton, went to $3500 to secure the service to the Inglewood Stud sire, Beaufort Sea.
