Former M.P. to stand
PA Tauranga A former member of Parliament for Hunua, Mr W. R. Peters, has confirmed that he is a contender for the National Party Tauranga nomination. Mr Peters, aged 38, a lawyer, of Auckland, had been a confidential candidate. National Party preselection rules allow aspirants. to keep their names
Mr Peters’s entry brings the number of known candidates to seven, including four lawyers. However, others could be keeping their candidacy confidential at this stage. ' The chairman of the Tauranga electorate of the party, Mr P. B. F. Atkins, said that party rules prevented him from saying whether there were otter confidential candidates. -*
