Pope invited
The head of the Czechoslovakian Catholic Church, Cardinal Frantisek Tomasek, has invited Pope John Paul II to visit Czechoslovakia next year. The news came as reports reached Vienna of religious oppression in Czechoslovakia, where the Communist authorities rigorously impose the official atheist policy. Cardinal Tomasek said he would be discussing the Papal invitation with the Communist Government but that there had been no reaction yet from the authorities or the Vatican.—Vienna.
