Play-off for Heasley again

For the second time this season, Peter Heasley was involved in a play-off to decide the winner of an open golf tournament. Earlier this year, he lost a sudden-death play-off with John Williamson for the Templeton Open, but yesterday he prevailed at the first extra hole against Ricky Vincent in the Coringa club’s 36-hole open

event. Heasley, a member of Coringa, had rounds of 76 and 76, as did Vincent (Christchurch). The intermediate title went to P. Mariu with two rounds of 79, from A. Double, who had scores of 81 and 80. G. Grant won the junior title with two scores of 89, from J. Ferguson (89, 91).
