Wellington beats Taranaki

Wellington retained the Rugby League Cup by beating Taranaki, 30-12, after leading only 8-6 midway through the match in Wellington on Saturday. For Wellington Steve Baker (two), Mike Kuiti, Paul Te Ariki, Gerard Katene and George Lajpold scored tries and Gary Campbell kicked three goals.
