Juhari retains title

NZPA-AP _ Jakarta The Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation’s' lightweight champion, Juhari, of Indonesia, defeated the Australian challenger, Barry Michael, in a split decision bout yesterday. Juhari, aged 25, won the title last October from Reinaldo Aldemier of the Philippines. Juhari turned professional two years ago but has had only 10 fights, for nine wins and one defedt* He collected about $22,450

for the fight and Michael got $3718. Rocky Pirrottina of Australia outpointed Thomas Americo, Indonesia, in a non-title 10-round light welterweight bout in a unanimous decision. Once the most idolised boxer in Indonesia, Americo had faded into oblivion after his defeat by the World Boxing Council light welterweight champion, Saoul Mamby, of the United States, in Indonesia’s first world title fight in 1981.
