Season extended
Free Theatre’s lastest production, “1984,” will run for an extra four nights this week. The season has been extended because the production, which is based on George Orwell’s novel, has attracted full houses on nearly every night of its two week run. Audiences have been boosted becaused many school parties have attended the performances.
The play, which was written by members of the Free Theatre by improvising on scenes from the novel, was scheduled to end its run last Sunday. The season has been extended by four extra performances from this evening until Saturday. The production, sub-titled “Future is Now,” is being staged at the Free Theatre in the Arts Centre off Rolleston Avenue at 8 p.m.
