DB moves office to Nelson

The administration of Dominion Breweries interests in the Seddon Shield districts (Marlborough, Nelson, and the West Coast) began from the company’s offices at Nelson this week.

Previously the office had been in Greymouth, beside its brewery.

The decision to move to Nelson was influenced by: the results of a feasibility study which showed NelsonMarlborough to be the fast-est-growing region in the South Island, said the area manager, Mr S. Granger. If the company could gain ground in this area it might well mean additional production from the Greymouth brewery which employes 50 persons, he said. Mr Granger is a former

senior executive with the Invercargill Licensing Trust and before that was South Island sales manager with a major hotels group. Key appointments from the change are:— Mr D. W. Hector, commercial manager responsible for all company leased and managed hotels and other property in the region. He has been with Dominion Breweries for 10 years, lately as Nelson administration officer.

Mr I. H. Batchelor, area sales manager after a period as Nelson sales manager. Mr I. V. MacLennan, area accountant, after three years as control accountant with H. Baigent and Sons, Ltd.
