B. Seppelt, and Sons, Ltd, the Adelaide based wine and spirits group, which is now apparently safe from a takeover bid from Adelaide Steamship Company, Ltd, reported a 39.8 per cent increase to sAust3.3M in its half-yearly profit to December 31. Adelaide Steamship launched a 220 c a share offer for Seppelt’s on February 13 but has failed to increase its holding above 20 per cent as the market price has remained above the market bid. Seppelt’s sales rose 7.3 per cent to S2SM.
