S.I. schools cycling titles

Cyclists from Burnside High School dominated the boy’s events, and competitors from Burnside High School dominated the girl’s events, at the Healing South Island secondary schools cycling championships at the week-end. The Shirley B.H.S. team which won the 1600 m Italian pursuit in the 16 years and over grade recorded a very fast Imin. 54.05. The Burnside H.S. girl’s team recorded 2 mins 18.0 s, a time that was beaten by only eight of the boy’s teams.

There were a total of 30 teams in the competition, and yesterday there were 140 riders entered in the road events held in the Prebbleton area. The track events were at Denton Park on Saturday. Results were: Road race results: BOYS Over 16 years
