Rattray scores 155 in lower grades
The High School Old Boys eighth-grade opening batsman, Mike Rattray, had the highest score of the four centurymakers in the Canterbury Cricket Association’s lowergrade competitions on Saturday. He scored 155 as his team compiled 315 for two off 40 overs. Scores were:— Second grade Old Collegians 188 met Sydenham 192/5. St Albans 192/6 dec. met Bumside-West 85/7. High School Old Boys 275/7 dec. (M. F. Ritchie 99, J. Whittaker 54) met Lancaster Park B 129/4 (K. Foster 56). Riccarton 145 (G. T. Straw 53; G. J. Hooker 7/40) met Marist 124/6. Lancaster Park A 194/8 dec. (W. R. Wilson 101 n. 0.) met East-Shirley 154/7. Third grade Christ’s College 134 and 157/ 7 (R. Petrie 5/49) lost to Shirley B.H.S. 204 (D. Murray 82) on the first innings. St Andrew’s 279/7 dec. (T. Thomson 128 n. 0.) drew with Bumside H.S. 187/7. Papanui H.S. 366/6 and 67/2 beat Linwood H.S. 263 (R. Meaclem 70, Williamson 59; Harrison 5/62) on the first innings. Christchurch B.H.S. 228/8 (Elliot 62, Ferguson 53) beat St Bede’s 121 (Jackson 5/49) and 87/3 on the first innings.
