Solomons demotion

NZPA-AAP Honiara The Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Mr Solomon Mamaloni, has demoted his deputy and appointed a new Foreign Minister in a major Cabinet reshuffle.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Kamilo Teke, has been left with the minor portfolio of Home Affairs for the Province of Guadal-

canal. A new portfolio of National Development, previously part of Mr Teke’s ministry, has been given to the former Foreign Affairs Minister. The new Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister is Mr George Talasasa, who formerly held employment, youth and social development portfolios.
