Top grades of furs sell well
PA Dunedin First and second grade furrier types met a strong market at Dalgety Crown’s latest opossum fur auction in Dunedin. They fetched prices 30 per cent firmer than in the December sale. A total of 174,983 wild opossum furs were offered with a 90 per cent clearance, along with 694 wild fitch furs which were withdrawn.
The bulk of the wild opossum fur collection was caught in late winter with the quality on par with the December auction. The balance of the offering was taken during the spring and early summer months.
A reasonably full bench of buyers attended the sale.
