Further remand
A prisoner, who struggled with police and held a knife in the dock of the No. 1 District Court last week, was further remanded to February 20 when he appeared in the District Court yesterday. The defendant, Bernard Allan Hill, aged 24, a sickness beneficiary (Mr A. N. D. Garrett), was remanded by Judge Hattaway in the custody of Sunnyside Hospital for an updated medical report. His outburst in the District Court last week had occurred when he appeared for sentence on four charges of driving while disqualified, and Judge Hattaway indicated that he intended to impose a custodial sentence. A new charge, of unlawfully possessing an offensive weapon, a knife, in the courtroom, was laid the fiext day. Jg
