Health camps ‘have future’
Child health camps were not threatened by a Government review, the Minister of Health, Mr Malcolm, has said. ~ Several Christchurch pediatricians said last week that the camps were an “expensive anachronism” that should be abandoned. 1 Mr Malcolm said that he welcomed public interest in the camps, and invited submissions to the review committee. because some people thought the health camp movement was threatened by the review, he said. That was not so. The review was to ensure that the health camp movement was relevant to the modern health needs of New Zealand children. “The question is therefore not whether the children’s health camp movement has a future, but simply what form and shape that future should take,” Mr Malcolm
