Family Fun Day at Riccarton
Another “Family Fun Day,” in conjunction with race trials is to be conducted by the CanterburyWestland Trainers’ Association at Riccarton on Sunday. Last year’s fixture was highly successful and the association raised about $3OOO. The entertainment at Sunday’s fixture will include pony races, raffles and numerous activities for chil-
dren. Food and drinks will also be available throughout the day. There will be a two-way split of the profits from this year’s “Fun Day.” Half will go to a fund for the seriously injured Takanini jockey, Tony Williams, and the rest will be used to get an equine swimming pool under way at Riccarton Racecourse. Sunday’s activities will start at 11 a.m.
