Pan Am’s losses fall
NZPA-Reuter New York Pan American World Airways cut its losses by more than SUS4OO million (SNZ6I6M) in 1983. The airline said it lost SUSSIM in 1983. It lost SUS4BS.3M in 1982. Pan American said its improved results were due primarily to the restructuring of its routes. It realigned its routes last year to feed traffic from United States interior points to the carrier’s long-haul international flights. Over the course of the year, Pan American opened eight domestic stations and 16 overseas stations, and closed seven stations.
