Trade show know-how
Over a period of 12 years, Xpo Exhibitions has organised more than 60 trade shows and exhibitions throughout New Zealand, and now stages about 15 shows each year. These specialist shows cover a wide range of industries, such as engineering, woodworking, hardware, hotel and catering, sports, printing and packaging, plastics, office equipment and computers. The company also organises “Home Shows” in all four main centres.
Xpo Exhibitions started in a small office in Sumner, Christchurch, and operated from there for the first
eight years. Much of the work was with exhibitions in Auckland, and the inevitable decision was made three years ago to move the head office north.
The company now employs 25 full-time staff, and is a member of the National Association of Exposition Managers (U.S.A.), through which it is bound by a code of professional conduct.
The Christchurch office of Xpo — the organisers of SIBEX ’B4 — consists of John Clarke, manager: Graham Broom, Sales Coordinator; and Sharon Dixon, show co-ordinator.
