IBM’s new facility at Petone
IBM’s new Petone facility in an industrial park on land formerly occupied by the Gear meat works will include warehousing, distribution, administration, training and customer service technical activity. The company announced the purchase of the land earlier this month. It intends to build a 5500 square metre building on the threehectare site.
IBM’s head office building on The Terrace, Wellington, will remain the base of company operations. Departments currently in Taranaki Street and Naenae will move to Petone, with first occupation of the site scheduled for the middle of next year.
