Clash calling
The Clash have drafted two new guitarists to replace Mick Jones, who Joe Strummer and Paul Simonon sacked last year because he had “drifted apart from the original idea of The Clash.” The new recruits are Vince White and Nick Shepherd, who, at 23, both have a good few years to catch
up on Strummer. Peter Howard, who drummed for The Clash in the United States last year, has also been made >a permanent member. No new records are promised, immediately, as The Clash have lined up a small British tour next month, to “play for the fans first.”
