Wattie actively traded
Trading in Wattie shares and a big jump in the price for Skellerup were the features of a busy, firm New Zealand Stock Exchange yesterday. Skellerup rose 55c to 660 c after announcing plans of a bonus issue, Ernest Adams, another Christchurch company which has plans of a bonus issue when the freeze is lifted, gained 30c to 580 c. But the news of the day was the share-swap between Goodman and Elders IML. Goodman’s rose 5c to 425 c in thin trading. Wattie was actively traded; more than one million and a half shares were sold at 515 c each, the price offered by Brierley Investments. N.Z. Forest Products was 10c dearer at 675 c, and Brierley was steady at 460 c. The mining and oil sector showed signs of firming.
