Huff, puff ’n peace
The final week of the "Summer Times" recreation programme will begin with a "Huff, Puff n Stuff Day” on Sunday and will end the next Sunday with a peace festival. The programme for the week is: SUNDAY, JANUARY 22 Huff, Puff ’n Stuff Day North Hagley Park. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food and drinks available. Events include the "Summer Times" triation — jazzercise, jogging, gymnastics — chance to have a go and see what is available in Christchurch. Entertainment includes harmony group, dance group, dance display, Raja meditation display, Stu Buchanan Big Band. MONDAY, JANUARY 23 Lunch times Lunch time activities in Cathedral Square. Children’s programme at Woolston Daily activities at Woolston School, starting 9 a.m. for ages five to 13. Monday to Friday. Children’s programme Holiday activities for schoolage children until Thursday. Activities include sports, dancing, “Behind-the-scenes” visits. Ferry transport available from Lyttelton. 9 a.m., tides and shore line adaptions. 1.30 p.m., children’s programme — food chains. Athletics Queen Elizabeth II Park main stadium, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association's annual Dorrie Leslie competition, Canterbury and Wellington teams. SUNDAY, JANUARY 29 Quail Island 1.30 p.m. A historic walk. Final — Peace Festival The “Summer Times” finale. North Hagley Park, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Peace celebrations with international groups from throughout the world, a parade for peace, music and entertainment.
