New export to P.N.G.

A unique, New Zealanddesigned flooring system has been sold in Papua New Guinea in a $300,000 export deal by ah Auckland comP Stahlton Flooring NZ, Ltd, a member of the Ceramco Group, has a contract to supply its Timber Infill flooring system to the six storey, Public Officers Superannuation Building in Port Moresby. The company will manufacture locally the prestressed concrete ribs which are part of the system, and he says this will give it a

competitive edge for future work in Papua New Guinea. The Timber Infill system involves pre-stressed ribs set at intervals, with the space between filled with timber battens. The upper surface is then covered with concrete. The company’s manager, Mr R. J. Fulford, said PNG was ideal as a market because it was small and varied in accessibility in many areas requiring transportable building components and it was rich in timbers suitable for the infill system.
